Crnogorski Telekom was the first in Montenegro to enable its customers to surf the Internet at a speed of 500 Mbps.

Telekom says that in this way they are sending a message to their customers that they can expect only the best on the market in their network, and that they want to justify their trust by improving the service. With improved coverage of the popular residential and shopping area, Telecom has continued to develop its network, and by providing superior speeds in the commercial network, it offers customers the highest mobile internet speeds in the country.

“After we broke the record in testing the network in March, and in the so-called “Live” network, ie in real conditions reached speeds of 925 Mbps – twice as high as previously measured in Montenegro – we continued to develop the infrastructure. Our users are currently enjoying the advantages of the most reliable mobile network in Montenegro, which is best evidenced by the fact that more than half of the 4G traffic in the country passes through our network. We are continuously trying to respond to the needs of the most demanding users, and this ultimately results in the fact that, according to the results of measurements by the Agency for Electronic Communications, published in April this year, we have officially the fastest mobile network in Montenegro, both in cities and in rural parts of the country, “she said Valentina Radulović, Director of Technology at Crnogorski Telekom.

By achieving these speeds, Telekom has gone a step further in improving the 4G network and user experience, while working with Ericsson Nikola Tesla to develop 5G technology – a new generation of mobile communications, based on augmented and virtual reality, networking smart devices, machines in industry…

New speeds of 500 Mbps are enabled for users using advanced technologies and modulations (CA1 4 × 4 MIMO2 + 256 QAM) that support the latest versions of smartphones available to Telekom customers in T-Centers and on the website www.telekom.me.

It is worth mentioning that Telekom was the first in Montenegro to use this technology.

1 CA (“carrier aggregation”) is a technique used in wireless communication to increase data rates per user.

2 MIMO (Multiple-input multiple-output) technology is a new standard of wireless communications that enables higher transfer speeds and better network performance.
